Congratulations to The Meriden Humane Society for winning the 2nd Annual ‘Willy Award’. This award was the result of the many generous contributions from all exhibitors and attendees participating in the Durham Pet Fair held this past May 16th at the Coginchaug Regional High School.
To apply for the award, Shelters and Rescues were asked to write a short essay explaining how the monetary donation would be best utilized at their facility if awarded. We applaud all of the participating organizations and extend special congratulations to the Meriden Humane Society who captured $3,000.00 for first place. Second place was awarded to Our Companions who collected $1,000.00 and a $500.00 third place prize was granted to the East Haven Animal Control. Many thanks are given to all of the contestants for entering in this year’s contest.
The following organizations were also awarded a free spay/neuter from our good friends at the Durham Veterinary Hospital:
