Here is a write up for our last Annual Help Willy’s Friends Pet Fair held on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Coginchaug Regional High School in Durham, Connecticut
We welcomed so many great organizations, local merchants and food vendors as well as some wonderful events and activities. If you’ve attended past fairs you know what we’re talking about.

Our annual event raised public awareness and offered assistance to the local animal shelters, rescues, and organizations seeking homes for currently adoptable dogs and cats. These adoption events showcased a variety of dogs and cats in shelters and rescues throughout the state.
In addition to local merchants and lots of food choices, this family-oriented event also included:
Adoptable pets, of course!
Police K-9 demonstration
Dog search and rescue demonstration
Children’s activities such as face-painting, touch-a-truck, and a fun house
Live music
DJ
Pet agility demonstration
For those pets who attended, we will also offered:
Free nail-clipping
Free Pet blessings
Free pet photography
Pet reiki
Pet psychic
Rabies vaccinations and micro-chipping, provided by Durham Veterinary Hospital for a nominal fee.
Parade of Stars
Last but not least was our Parade of Stars – a parade of the adoptable dogs with an emcee introducing each and every one to the tune of thunderous applause from the crowd. It’s their 15 seconds of fame that gave these dogs reason to smile and enjoy the attention being lavished on them. It was an event not to be missed!
